Irene Zevgolis is an award winning graphic designer specializing in logos, branding, book design, music cds and so much more! As a professional designer of thirty-eight years, she takes pride in consulting effectively and providing a work ethic of quality, commitment, excellence and creativity!
A lifetime Penn State Alumni Member, Irene received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Graphic Design 1983 from The Pennsylvania State University,
State College, PA; under the art direction of internationally acclaimed
Graphic Designer & Illustrator, Lanny B. Sommese and William (Bill) Kinser, Typography & Computer Master. Irene attained a Computer Graphic Design Degree at Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland 2002; where she holds an Associates Arts Degree, Studio Art 1980.
Fall 1983, Irene began her career in Washington, D.C. working in graphic design studios under the Art Direction of greats like (Jane D’Alelio) Ice House Graphics, (Harry Knox) Harry Knox & Associates, (Solietier Jaeger) Jaeger Design Studio and (Al Glass) Glass & Glass Designers. In 1985, Irene took off to Boston, MA freelancing for over nine graphic design studios, including New Age Magazine. Returning to the D.C. area in 1986, she landed a Packaging Design position at Giant Food, Inc. (Karen Byer). Returning to the freelance realm in 1988, Irene worked for Jenkins Corporation and Woodward & Lothrop’s Advertising Department. Landing her dream position as Senior Graphic Designer at Design Network (Del Harrod) Washington, D.C., Irene worked on K Street from 1988 to 1991.
Irene Z Design began at the onset of Irene’s freelance career. Working arduously for many years, a full service design studio emerged. A classic and innovative approach to graphic design earned national awards from Print Magazine, Print’s Best Logos & Symbols, Graphic Design USA and The Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington.
Irene is grateful first and foremost to God, her beloved Mother, teacher, artist, writer; her Beloved Father, USAF Veteran, artist, machinist, mechanic; Professor Emeritus Lanny B. Invited to join Montgomery College’s Communication Arts faculty, Irene served as Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design teaching a variety of classes from 2005 - 2009. In the 80s, she was Adjunct Graphic Design Professor at Columbia Union College.
Irene was Substitute Digital Art & Studio Art teacher 2004 - 2020 and was Media Assistant for Montgomery County Public Schools, MD, 2011 - 2019. Irene presented her children’s picture books, The Dreamer & The Moon & The Ballerina & The Moon to MCPS, The Children’s Inn at NIH, bookstores and children’s events.
